Caravaggio's Nativity.

The original painting of the Nativity was stolen on a rainy night between 17 and 18 October 1969 from the Oratory of San Lorenzo in the heart of Palermo. Witnesses reported that it was stolen by some hooded men who fled in a van.
From that moment on, investigations followed one after the other in a 'frenetic and uneven' manner, as the Anti-Mafia Parliamentary Commission noted, and without concrete results.
The FBI included the Nativity in its list of the most sensational art thefts ever, with a market value of around 30 million euro.
